New York
I went to Schenectady for training for my current job. I was there for three months, but I was in class five days a week and had a roommate who took the rental car and took off exploring. I wandered the town with a couple of friends but generally stayed in town. Some guys went to New York City over Christmas and New Years Eve, but I opted to go home instead. I did manage a quick excursion into Canada, though, just an overnight jaunt.
Curiously enough, I ate at several restaurants but none of them really stand out in my memory as being particularly wonderful. This was a nice, sleepy town, possibly a nice place to raise a family. Not very exciting, but solid, dependable. Lake George is nearby, with several stunning views, and New York City is a relatively short train ride from the city center.
