Ah, Wyoming, the state that time forgot! Despite going to Wyoming twice and driving across much of the state, I was never able to get cell phone reception anywhere except Cheyenne. The state is a rancher's paradise, however, with horses and cattle all over the place. If wide open spaces is what you desire, you'll find it in Wyoming.
I stayed in the Wyoming Motel in Wheatland and if you find that you need to stay in that area I can very much recommend it. It's a mom & pop kind of establishment and the owners are some of the friendliest people I have had the honor of meeting. You can find a link to their website on my links page.

Fun Facts
Wyoming's license plates feature a man on a bucking bronco. The horse has a name -- "Old Steamboat" -- after a bronc that could not be ridden.
